Cuihu Park, Kunming

The Cuihu Park is found on the western side of the Yuhua Mountain in Central District, Kunming. The forms of green trees are mirrored in the lake, dying the water an emerald green. Beginning from the end of the Yuan Dynasty, one building was built ashore after another.

The Biqi (Green Ripple) Pavilion stands on the lake's central island. On the northern shore stand the Laifeng (Rising Wind) Pavilion and the Fish-Watching Pavilion. Weeping willow trees sway invitingly on th, shore, echoing the lotus flowers growing on the lake.

The environment is refreshing, graceful and tranquil all at once. In winter, tens of thousands of wintering red-beaked gulls descend upon the lake, drawing large crowds of curious onlookers.
