Gardens in Wuxi


Wuxi, an important industrial and commercial city with a venerated history of 3,000 years in the center of the Yangtze River delta, sits adjacent to Suzhou and 128 kilometers from Shanghai. The Lake Taihu lies to the south of the city, and the ancient Grand Canal runs right across it. Wuxi is a picturesque land offish and rice, and a land pockmarked by sites of historical associations.

The place is prodigally endowed with natural resources and cultural heritage Wuxi is the tourist's dream place to be, a blend of landscape, culture, and leisure. The beauty of Wuxi does not just stop here, however. Its classical gardens are as famous as those in other tourist cities. The Jichangyuan Garden. for example, are outstanding examples of classical gardens in the lower Yangtze valley.
