| Mt.
Qianshan
Mt. Qianshan, 18 kilometers south east of downtown Anshan. covers an
area of 300 square kilometers, with its high peak 7118 meters above sea level. The
scenic area here consists of four parts: the north, the middle, the
south, and the southwest. The northern part has beautiful scenery and
many temples and halls, such as Wuliang and Longquan. In the middle
of the mountain there is a naturally-formed giant Buddha, 70 meters
high. Every June, a large Buddhist activity is held here.
Jade Buddha Tower
The Jade Buddha Tower is located in Anshan proper, with an area of
22, 000 square meters. The main building is 33 meters high and 66 meters
wide, and stretches 58 meters deep. It enshrines a 5. 2-meter-high jade
Buddha carved from a piece of jade from Xiuyan. The Jade Buddha has
been listed on the Guinness Book of World Records.
The
reservoir is located in the Oinghe District, Tieling, and covers an
area of 75 square kilometers. The dam is 1,622 meters long and 39.6
meters high, and is hemmed in by beautiful mountains. A tourist area
has been recently established, with a film city and villa blocks.
