Fuchun-Xin'an Rivers Scenic Area
Located on the middle and upper reaches of the Qiantang River, it covers four counties of
Fuyang, Tonglu, Jiande and Chun'an. It boasts of brooks and valleys of unique shapes, and
lakes, falls, islets and caves that have beautiful legends to go with them. The hills
along the river are picturesque, and the river water is both crystal and limpid. Inspired
by the Iyric landscape along the river, Huang Gongwan, the great Yuan Dynasty painter,
drew a painting about mountain life here, which has gone down as a national treasure.
Historical sites and places of interest along the river are many, such as the ancient town
of Longmen in Fuyang County which was the hometown of Sun Quan, King of the State of Wu
during the Three Kingdom period (222-280), the rural folk custom tour at Xinsha Islet in
Fuyang County, and Tongiun Hill where the Chinese medicine originated. 
There are also the Angling Terrace of Yan Ziling, Yaolin scenic area, the Daci Crag in
Jiande County where a temple was built in suspension, the vast and gorgeous Thousand-
lslet Lake and the islets of monkeys, deer and snakes in it. |
