Site of Peking Man at Zhoukoudian

The home of Peking Man is located in the west of Zhoukoudian in Fangshan, Beijing. In the 1920s, the Chinese palaeoanthropologists discovered many mammalian fossils from the Dragon Bone Hill at Zhoukoudian. Later the discovery of the first complete Peking Man skullcap caused a sensation in the world. In 1987 the site of Peking Man at Zhoukoudian was defined as the world cultural heritage by the United Nations.

You may get on No.917 Bus at Tianqiao or a mini bus at Liuliqiao to go to Zhoukoudian.
