The South China Botanical Gardens


Located in Longyan Cave in the northeastern suburbs of Guangzhou, the gardens are 15 kilometers from the city proper.

The gardens occupy air area of 300 hectares and have introduced 5,000 species of tropical and subtropical plants truth other parts of the country or the world. They incorporate 14 exhibition districts and gardens. These include a palm district, a medicinal herb district, a gymnospcrln district, a bamboo district, a contractual plant district, a gardening tree district, a relic plant district, a tropical plant district, the Pugang Nature Reserve, a shade plant district, a pollullon-prevention greening plant district, an orchid garden, a ginger garden and a sago palm garden.

These gardens have great varieties of plants and offer a vast source of materlals for scientific research. It is apprecialed as one of the eight best scenic spots around Guangzhou for its beautiful scenery and tropical and subtropical plants.
