The Zhongshan Botanical Gardens are situated in a scenic area in the eastern distrlcts of Nanjing, Jiangsu province. They occupy an area of 186 hectares including 2,000 square meters of greenhouses and two hectares of experimental nurseries. The gardens cultivate 3,000 species of plants of 188 families, 100,000 in total.

The area includes a gardening plants district a plant classification garden, a tree garden, a pine and cypress gdrden, a medicinal herb garden, an endangered plant district and exhibition greenhouses. A botanical garden for the blind and a potted plant garden ate under construction. These gardens incorporate a taste of the forest and a natural landscape. The Zlnongshan Botanical Gardens are a modem rncsnns of allowing the masses to appreciate nature and also an outdoor gene warehouse preserving our natural environment for generations to come.
