Mengshan National Forest Park

Located in Mengyin County in central Shandong Province, Mount Mengshan is the second-highest mountain in Shandong, with 12 peaks more than 1,000 meters above sea level. On the mountain grow evergreen pine and cypress trees.

There are a number of scenic spots and historical sites, as well as waterfalls. In the Spring and Autumn Period (770-476 B.C.) Confucius once climbed the mountain, and many men of letters in ancient China, such as Li Bai, Du Fu and Su Shi, famous poets, wrote poems about their visits to it. During the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), emperors Kangxi and Qianlong came to the foot of the mountain time and time again to view it.
