Dragon Pond National Forest Park

The Dragon Pond National Forest Park covers an areas of 480,000 mu, including over 40,000 mu of the core scenic area. About 30 kilometers to the northwest of Dujiang City and 84 kilometers to Chengdu City, an important city in southwest China, the national forest Park is adjacent to Dujiang Dam and the Mount Qingcheng Scenic area. The institute of Botany of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has established the West China Subalpine Botanical Garden in the park, which has cultivated more than 250 species of azaleas.

In the park, deep and silent forests are surrounded by green peaks, in the center of which is Dragon Pond. Ancient towering trees line mountain streams, waterfalls cascade from precipices, and weird shaped rocks pierce the grass cover. All these form an extremely beautiful natural picture. Forest rambling, bathing and flower appreciation are favorite pursuits in spring and summer, red leaves can be viewed in autumn and snow covered peaks can be gazed at in winter. The park is also an ideal place for scientific research, medical treatment, holidays and meetings.
