Grasslandand Rolling Country

The northern part of the lake zone is a grassland of 600,000 square meters. It is a fair region, whose receding expanses, marked with gentle elevations and depressions, suggests the swelling and subsiding undulations of the sea.

The Sarira Pagoda of the Yongyou Temple towers over the rich meadows in the northeast. In the center of the grassland is the Garden of Ten Thousand Trees, where ancient trees swell up to noble heights.

West of the Mountain Summer Resort is a rolling country of about 4.4 million square meters, or 78 percent of the total area of the entire resort. Mountain ranges roll across a world of gullies and ravines cocoon under a forest of Pine trees. Tranquil is the word for this place, where there used to be forty or so architectural structures. Some of these buildings have been restored, with such erotic names as Southern Mountain of Accumulated Snow, Mountain with Cloud, in all Directions, and Sunset at Hammer-Like Peak.
