Suzhou Street![]() Suzhou Street was a shopping street built in the Summer Palace according to a typical street scene in the lower Yangtze valley. During the Qing Dynasty this 300-metre-long street was where empresses and imperial concubines took a stroll in times of leisure. Today the street looks exactly what it was in the early days, shedding some light on commercial activities of mid-18th century China. Today, the street is thronged by tourists who come to buy souvenir. |
