Located in southwestern Alxa Banner and in central Gansu Province, with Mt. Helan in the east, the Great Wall in the south, and Mt. Yabulai in the west, Tengger Desert covers an area of 36,700 square kilometers, criss-crossed by sand hills, basins, hills, and flat lands, 1,200 to 1,400 meters above sea level. There are more than 400 lakes, the majority of which are fresh. It is an ideal place for desert adventures.
