Located on the upper reaches of the Ganjiang River in southern Jiangxi Province, Ganzhou City, founded in 1949, is one of the ancient cultural cities in China, with a population of 230,000. The city enjoys convenient transportation with the Beijing-Kowloon Railway passing by and the Zhangjiang and Gongjiang rivers running through.

First established in the early Western Han Dynasty more than 2,100 years ago, Ganzhou has been the economic and cultural center. It is an ancient city with the best-preserved historical sites of the Song Dynasty in the country.
