The Memorial Hall to Zhang Xueliang in the former residence of Zhang Xueliang is located at Chaoyang Street in the Shenhe District, Shenyang. The former residence consists of three parts: the east, the west, and the middle, with one-storied compounds. The central courtyard was built in traditional Chinese style, where Zhang Zuolin, Zhang Xueliang's father, and he worked and lived. The eastern courtyard consists of European-, Chinese- and Western-style buildings and a garden. Construction of the red European building complex in the western courtyard began prior to the September 18th Accident and was finished after the Accident. On display in the Memorial Hall are the outstanding achievements of General Zhang Xueliang.
