Mount Kagebo

Mount Kagebo, 6,740 meters above sea level, is the main peak of Meili (Taizi) Snow Mountain, the highest peak in Yunnan Province. Meili Snow Mountain has 13 peaks over 6,000 meters above sea level. Mount Kagebo is high, steep and imposing, with rolling glaciers.

It is a sacred mountain worshipped by Tibetan Buddhist followers, called the "God of Snow Mountain." On the section between 5,500 and 2,700 meters there are two glaciers called "Mingyongqia" and "Siqa." These are modern monsoon maritime glaciers in low latitude and high altitude, which are very rare. The 150-kilometer-long Lancang River Gorge, with an latitudinal difference of 4,734 meters, is at the foot of Meili Snow Mountain.

Feilai Temple, located 10 kilometers from the county seat of Deqen, is the best place to view Mount Kagebo.
