The "Three Rivers Flow Side by Side" Scenic Area


The "Three Rivers Flow Side by Side" Scenic Area is located in the longitudinal valley from the southern slope of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau to the Hengduan Mountains do northwestern Yunnan (98-100¢X 3f!! E, 25*30' - 29¢X N). The area is mainly, in Deqen Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture and long Lisu Autonomous Prefecture where ethnic minorities live in compact Communities.

Three great rivers (the Nujiang, the Lancang, arid the Jinsha) flowing side by side is a rare sight all over the world. The three rivers flow side by side for more than 400 kilometers in the longitudinal valley of the Hengduan Mountains in northwestern Yunnan, and the shortest distance between the rivers is only 66.3 kilometers. The scenic area boasts unique spectacular sights, including snow-capped mountains, grand canyons, dense forests, alpine lakes, vast grasslands and rare plants and animals, as well as colorful ethnic folklore. This is a scenic area with great potential for further development.
