Situated in Changping Village, 10 kilometers southwest of Yuncheng proper,
the temple is said to be the former residence of Guanyu, a general in
ancient times. The construction ofthe temple started in the early years
of the Sui Dynasty (581-618) and the temple was expanded in the Jin Dynasty
(1115-1234). During the Ming and Qing dynasties, the buildings were rebuilt
and expanded 16 times. |
