The hill originally named Yushan, lies on the east bank of the Longhua
River, 18 kilometers north of the county seat of Yuxian. It enjoys attractive
scenery and a moderate climate. On the hill grows peculiar-shaped pines
and cypresses. Different styles of Ming and Qing temples and pavilions
are scattered around the hillsides. Inside the structures are the statues
and mural paintings that have remained almost untouched. On the 15th day
of the 4th month of the Chinese lunar calendar, a traditional fair is
held each year. |
