Shihaidongxiang

Just over 140 kilometers from Yibin, Xingwen is also known as Shihaidongxiang, which means "a county with a sea of rocks and caverns". The rock forests and karst eaves spread across 17 towns. Within an area of 14 square kilometers, there are more than 20 karst caverns with an area of 10,000 square meters each. The greatest concentration of caverns is in Xingyan Town. The largest are the Tianquan, Tian] iang, and Tianlong caverns. The stalagmites and stalactites offer an impressive view.

Located in the low lands between the mountains of Changning and Jiang'an counties, Shunanzhuhai (Sea of Bamboo of Southern Sichuan) was originally known as Wanling Gully. The 28 mountains have more than 1,000 peaks, each blanketed in bamboo. In addition to the more famous Nanzhu Bamboo, there are more than 30 different varieties of bamboo growing in the 4,000 hectares of Shunanzhuhai.
