Boundary Mountain Daban

Going northward from Rutog, you come to the highway to Tibet, the highway with the highest elevation. It runs across the Kunlun Mountain and through the uninhabited zone in Ngari. The boundary mountain of Daban between Xinjiang and Tibet is the highest section of the highway and is 6,700 meters above sea level. The air in the mountain area contains 60 percent of the oxygen of the normal air.

The atmospheric pressure is low. But you have to cross eight mountains before you arrive at Yecheng, Xinjiang. In addition, this poor highway is very hard for driving. Also it is hard to find supplement along the highway.
