B. Tour Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrive Beijing
Welcome to Beijing, capital of China. On arrival you will be met by our CITS guides and
transferred to you hotel.
- Day 2
Beijing
Morning tour to Tian An Men Square. Located in the heart of the capital, and the
Imperial Palace (Forbidden City) - one of the greatest feats of ancient Chinese
architecture. Afternoon sightseeing includes the Summer Palace - a former summer resort
area of the royal family, or a visit to the Temple of Heaven where the emperors prayed for
good harvest. Dinner is the famous Beijing roasted duck at a local restaurant.
- Day 3
Beijing
A full day excursion to the Great Wall - the landmark of China. It is one of the most
amazing feats of human labor - the only man - made construction on earth visible from
outer space. After lunch, a drive to the Ming Tombs along the Sacred Way with giant marble
figures and animals guarding the tomb area for deceased emperors of the Ming dynasty.
- Day 4
Beijing - Xi'an by air
A 2-hour flight to Van, the great ancient capital and the eastern end of the Silk Road.
City tour begins with a visit to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda which was built in 652 AD. It
contains a large volume of Buddhist scriptures which were obtained from India by the
eminent monk Xuanzang. A cultural performance will be provided if available.
- Day 5
Xian
A full day visit includes the unparalled highlight of an excursion to the incredible
Terra-Cotta Warriors and Horses at the Tomb of Qin Shi Huang, the first Qin emperor. Added
highlights are a visit to the Huaqing Hot Spring - a former resort area especially for the
emperors and the royal family and a visit to the Banpo Village - the remains of a
Neolithic village dating back 6,000 years. Primitive tools and household utensils are
displayed in the Banpo Museum.
- Day 6
Xi'an - Nanjing by air
Nanjing, a famous ancient capital of China for six different dynasties, is the capital of
Jiangsu Province.
- Day 7
Nanjing
Begin your exploration today with the mighty double-deck Yangtze River Bridge. Then onward
to the imposing Mausoleum of Dr. Sun Yat-sen and the site of the Ming Emperor's Tomb and
Xuanwu Lake.
- Day 8
Nanjing - Yangzhou by coach
A one hour drive by coach to Zhenjiang before getting to Yangzhou by the ferry.
Sightseeing there includes visits to the Slim West Lake, the Gaming Temple and the Geyuan
Garden
- Day 9
Yangzhou - Wuxi by train
Back to Zhenjiang by the ferry before taking a 2-hour train ride to Wuxi, known as the
"Land of Rice and Fish". Your visits in Wuxi include the lakeside Li Yuan Garden
and Mei Yuan. Time permitting, you may also board a boat to cruise island-dusted Lake Tai.
- Day 10
Wuxi - Suzhou by boat
Today we board a canal boat for the leisurely cruise along the ancient Grand Canal -
Suzhuo. Our boat ride provides a glimpse of traditional life along the canal's most
interesting section from Wuxi to Suzhou.
- Day 11
Suzhou
Suzhou, known as the garden of China. Visits to the Tiger Hill. Garden of Harmony Rock,
Lion Garden, an embroidery factory and more.
- Day 12
Suzhou - Hangzhou by boat
Travelling by boat to Hangzhou from Suzhou, we can observe life on the tranquil waters of
1,300-year old Grand Canal, which is still a principal form of transport in the area.
- Day 13
Hangzhou
A full day sightseeing features a cruise on the famous West Lake and a visit to the Pagoda
of Six Harmonies. Time permitting, visit a silk factory.
- Day 14
Hangzhou - Shanghai by train
A morning tour to view the 4th century Ling Yin Temple. Then board an afternoon train to
Shanghai, a cosmopolitan city.
- Day 15
Shanghai
Your visit today begins with the 400 years old Yu Yuan Garden and a visit to the Jade
Buddha Temple, a craft factory or curio shop. Afternoon, stroll the lively waterfront Bund
and shop along the famous Nanjing Road where shops stay open late. An acrobatic show for
your evening entertainment.
- Day 16
Shanghai - Guilin by air
A 2-hour flight brings you to Guilin with a visit to the most famous Reed Flute Cave or
Fubo Hill up where you can climb for the panoramic view of the city.
- Day 17
Guilin
Take a boat ride along the Li River to Yang Shuo, viewing the spectacular scenery as it
reflects in the crystalline water. You can explore Yang - a small town with many stalls
selling traditional Chinese arts and crafts articles. Return to Guilin by coach for
dinner.
- Day 18
Guilin - Guangzhou by air
A 50-minute flight to Guangzhou, the southern gateway to China. City sightseeing features
the Memorial Hall of Dr. Sun Yat-sen: the Six Banyan Pagoda and Temple, and the Statue in
the Yuexiu Park.
- Day 19
Guangzhou/Hong Kong
Cast your last glimpses of China as you board an express train for Hong Kong through the
rural New Territories.
