In the later half of this year, the country
will formally launch "red tourism" project on the occasion of 70th anniversary of
the Red Army's Long March, sources from the National Tourism Work Forum held
in Urumqi.
He Guangwei, head of China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) says that, the CNTA has put forward the report concerning the work suggestions on developing red tourism. That is to lay special stress on the construction of a "red tourism" core system, which is mainly characterized by "ten tourism bases," 20 "red tourism cities," 100 "red tourism classic scenic spots." He Guangwei emphasizes that, the promotion of "red tourism" is a need to eulogize the brilliant cause of the Party, inspire and carry forward China's national spirits. It is a need to promote the development of "Five Syntheses and Coordination," and integrate resources from various sides to help people in old revolutionary base areas overcome poverty and get rich. And it is also a need to promote the tourism in middle and western areas, further strengthen the reserve strength of the country's tourism industry. He asks the tourism administrative departments at various levels to act vigorously, and formulate the work scheme of "red tourism" for their own areas under the overall planed framework of the whole country's "red tourism," and put it on the agenda of the local governments' work. The construction of "red tourism" product system should be accelerated. And the theme activities such as "reexperience the Long March," "revisit to the battlefield," "heroic city tour," "tours to famous personage hometown" etc. will be jointly put forth to correspond to the 70 anniversary of the Long March. By doing so it is to create a momentum to ensure the "red tourism" work to be carried out with a high-starting point, of a high quality and at a high-level. |
