Located in Zhanyuan Garden on Zhanyuan Road, the museum has an exhibition area of 1,200 square meters.

It was built in October 1956 for the 100'" anniversary of the Taiping Rebellion. In collection are more than 1,600 pieces of relics, of which 42 are under state Class I protection. Some of the books printed during the Kingdom of Heavenly Peace can also be found in the museum.
