Traveling on Water

Yangzhou was a flourishing city in the Han and Tang dynasties and reached its heyday in the Qing Dynasty, during which time Emperor Qianlong visited the lower reaches of the Changjiang River six times, and Yangzhou was his must stop. To satisfy the emperor, the local government officials built gardens along the banks of West Lake. In recent years, this route has been reopened. Visitors can travel by boat.
