Yangtze River Cruise 18-day Tour From $3,348 pp

Beijing/Xian/Chongqing/Wuhan/Shanghai/Guiling/Guangzhou/Hong Kong – 18 days

Day 1  US/Beijing
Depart San Francisco with your transpacific flight to Beijing. Travelers from other countries should arrange your arrival in Beijing next day.

Day 2  Arrive Beijing (D)
Arrive Beijing, China's capital. You will marvel the magnificent cosmopolitan even you are not the first time visitor. Our guide and driver will meet you at the airport and escort you to your centrally located Kunlun Hotel.

Day 3  Beijing (B, L, D)
Your guided tours start today. Visit the world's largest plaza -- Tiananmen Square. The magnificent royal court Forbidden City (now called "Palace Museum") offers endless treasures and stories. Continue to the Temple of Heaven and Summer Palace, the symbols of the country.

Day 4  Beijing (B, L, D)
Great Wall, bordering the Gobi Desert. Walk on the Great Wall is going to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Also visit the Ming Imperial Tombs. An authentic Peking Duck dinner.

Day 5  Beijing/Xian (B, L, D)
Fly to Xian, an ancient capital for 13 dynasties and now a modern metro city. Transfer to Grand Castle Hotel or same class.

Day 6  Xian (B, L, D)
Today, we set off to view China's first emperor's 6,000 life size Terra-cotta Soldiers and their horses, chariots, and weapons, noted as "the eighth wonder of the world". Also visit legendary Wild Goose Pagoda and the ancient but well reserved City Wall. If time permits, visit Banpo Neolithic Museum. A marvelous Tang Dynasty dumpling dinner and show.

Day 7  Xian/Chongqing (B, L, D)
Fly to Chongqing in the southwest. City tour in Chongqing before pre- board the 5 star fine cruise ship, M. S. Yangtze Angel or M. S. Blue Whale. Overnight on board.

Day 8  Yangtze River Cruise (B, L, D)
Depart Chongqing at 9 am for an exciting downstream voyage exploring the unique Three Gorges on the world's third largest river. The great mountains and rapid water isolated and kept a stunning world from the outside. Staying with one of the finest cruise ships on the river, you will appreciate the comfort ambiance when you come back from each shore excursion. Your first port of call will be Fengdu, the legendary "City of Ghost": The Ming Hill, to be submerged when the Three Gorges dam is completed, is a land of "hell": The scaring torture statues describing the afterlife were sculpted to terrify the illiterate. Continue passing the first gorge, Qutang Gorge this morning, you will see the high peaks, sheer cliff, and the narrow "gates" of the waterway when the great river still in the upper reaches. Then we come to the second gorge, Wu Gorge, the most beautiful parts of the Three Gorges.

Day 9  Yangtze River Cruise (B, L, D)
Shennong Stream excursion, you will explore ancient plank road remains along the river, mysterious ancient coffins hanging high on the cliffs, wild monkeys running under the primitive bushes. Passing the 3rd gorge: Xiling Gorge.

Day 10  Yangtze River Cruise (B, L, D)
Arrive Yichang at 8 AM. Excursion to the Three Gorges Dam. Visit the model room, the guide will give you an overall briefing of the world’ s largest hydro-project. On top of the Jar Ridge, you will have a bird’s view of the while site: the 185-m high dam, and the 5-level shiplock, etc…


Day 11  Yangtze River Cruise /Wuhan/Shanghai (B, L, D)
Arrive in Wuhan this morning. Transfer to the airport to take your flight to Shanghai, China's most populous city and a rising economic center in Asia. Our guide will escort you to Huating Hotel.

Day 12  Shanghai (B, L, D)
Stroll along the world famous Bund waterfront, where your guide will show you the landmarks along China's Wall Street and one of the world's highest buildings in the newly developed land across the bustling Huangpu River. In the afternoon, shop along the Old City Town and Nanjing Road -- Shanghai's past and present center business districts. Continue your exploration to the Jade Buddha Temple in the afternoon.

Day 13  Shanghai (B)
Hotel and breakfast only. Today is free on your own exploration.

Day 14  Shanghai/Guilin (B, L, D)
Take your 1.5 hour flight to Guilin, a city famous for its green hills, clear waters, fantastic caves and spectacular rocks. Visit Reed Flute Cave and Elephant Hill before transfer to 5 star Sheraton Hotel or same class for overnight.

Day 15 Guilin (B, L, D)
Full day cruise on Li River, which is limpid with crystal water. The boat trip on the river from Guilin to Yangshuo covers a distance of 83 kilometers. This section of the river makes a unique traditional Chinese Painting with its clear water and clusters of pinnacles. The destination - Yangshuo, is a small and quiet town surrounded by fishing villages. Back to Guilin this afternoon.

Day 16  Guilin/Guangzhou/Hong Kong (B, L)
Morning flight to Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong Province and the southern gate of China, for a rich dim sum luncheon, before taking a 4 hour leisure boat trip to Hong Kong, "the Peal of Orient". Transfer by shuttle bus to your Royal Pacific Hotel or same class.

Day 17  Hong Kong
A half-day tour includes a ride to the Victoria Peak overlooking the Victoria Harbor; Repulse Bay, Hong Kong's most popular beach; a former pirate town Aberdeen and Stanley Market, world famous shopping bazaar. Afternoon is free on you own for shopping or packing.

Day 18  Hong Kong/Exit
Your China and Hong Kong trip finishes today. Transfer to the airport by shuttle bus. Take your homebound transpacific flight. You will arrive home the same day, with everlasting memories. For people from other country, please arrange your own flight back home.

To apply for it please fill out the China visa form, submit with your original valid passport and 1 recent picture. Using FedEx to mail your visa application is strongly suggested. We will send back the China visa and your passport via FedEx. Regular process takes 7- 10 working days. Express service is available upon request and additional fee.
